Wyandotte Casino Opens in Downtown Kansas City
The Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma quietly opened a tiny casino Thursday on its territory in downtown Kansas City, Kansas. The U.S. Interior Department ruled that the tribe's urban land was eligible for Class II gambling activities, such as bingo and "pull tab" games similar to slot machines.

Suquamish Casino Expansion Adds to Competition in Washington
Despite the stiff Indian gaming competition in Washington, the Suquamish tribe is betting that its newly expanded Clearwater Casino in Kitsap will succeed. The expanded casino is now twice the size, with more than 25,000 square feet of floor space to house 900 slot machines, 33 gaming tables, a keno lounge and a poker room.
